In Jr. High, I hated my math classes. Who am I kidding, I hated them in high school and college as well...
I always found peace in the 2-sides of the brain theory--creative vs analytical. I always thought that if 1
side of my brain {creative} was working, then that was better than most ;) So, when Algebra projects
came due, I broke out the creative side and did what any 7th grader would do--I designed blueprints.
Outside of class, I studied and learned the symbols for windows, doors, cabinets and sinks. I was so
proud of my finished creations! They were mounted and matted before they were turned in.Thankfully,
those projects held a huge amount of weight and my math grades were happy!
Imagine my delight when I discovered The Fantasy Floorplans featured over at Poppytalk.

Brandi has one heck of an imagination! I think this just may be one of the coolest businesses
I have ever heard of! She recreates the house {set} blueprints of her favorite TV shows.

Mike and Carol Brady's lower level.

I know we are all sick of Charlie Sheen--but he has {had} some cool digs!

She admits to taking some liberties, I mean some of those doors in these shows were never
opened! But, as she watched the shows, she tried her best to reproduce them as accurately as possible.

It's THE Little House on the Prairie!!!
"Welcome to the somewhat primitive little house of Caroline and Charles Ingalls. Featuring a dining/living area
with stone fireplace. A kitchen with well pump. A ground floor bedroom area and loft for Laura and Mary.
The windows have shutters to keep out the cold winter chill from the prairie. If you need directions
to the creek, just follow my arrow. And if you need to hang wet clothes after washing them in the creek,
there's a clothes line right next to the cabin. "

And check out JJ's humble abode from 'Good Times'. Dyn-O-mite!
Brandi also includes great descriptions of the special accessories used in each home. It might be
the aubusson rug used in Rachael and Monicas apartment or the Rauschenberg print in the
hallway of Fraziers high-rise. And the address of each home is included.
All of Brandi's prints are produced from original drawings which she hand-drafts on vellum. It's great
that she creates her drawings by hand, old school style. She admits that the process involved in
producing the final drawing is a long one. There are lots of sketches, notes, tracing paper, popcorn
and a whole lotta tv watching.
If you want to 'walk' through the homes of Seinfeld, Laverne and Shirley, or Mr Big--just to name
a few, then check out Brandi's site www.fantasyfloorplans.com or her etsy site. You will have
so much fun!
