Edie's digs

Friday, July 13, 2012

Well, the super fab Edie has gone and done it again. Remember how fantastic the bedroom is that she decorated for her girls last year?? Well, now she's added one more super beautiful room to her gorgeous home. This time, the master, which by the way she claims is still a work in progress.

I love that wall color {graphite: ben. moore}, don't you?? It just adds the perfect backdrop to bounce the glimmer of the mirrored glass edged tufted headboard and crystal chandelier. With the richness of the walls, I love all of the white and the punch of terra-cotta accents.

And take a look at the special spot where she gets to write her love letters.

Oh, I can only imagine the drama in this bed!! I mean, you have the twins Chiang Mai Dragon 1 & 2, layered behind Ms. long, skinny striped monogram and you just know that Miss yellow flower has to work hard to keep the peace. I mean they are all just too pretty! It's like putting several NY housewives in the same room--they just can't not outdo each other!

Rain, rain, go away...

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

It has been rainy and dark for too long in my mountain valley. I need some sunshine!! I was going through old photos and came across a design board that I submitted for a project earlier in the year that is full of sunshine yellow. Unfortunately, I am not going to get to implement it.

So, in case you need a little sunshine in your home, I am sharing it with all of you! A little free design! Recognize the Lauren Liess fabrics?! I am dying to use her line in a project...one day. Someone go decorate and send me pictures!

{I fuzzied the project name--that's why it looks weird}

Getting Vampy in Rue

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Have you seen Rue Magazine May edition? This online magazine is getting better and better! One of my favorite articles featured the home of the one-of-a-kind designer, stylist, writer, public speaker and blogger Valerie Hart.

How fun is the framed collection of the Hermes bags {etsy!} hung on the upholstered green walls in her bedroom?

On her blog, Visual Vamp, Valerie gives us a behind the scenes of her bedroom design and she shares the sources for the fabrics and furniture that she used {the rugs came from Wal-Mart!! She used 2 smaller ones to create 1 large one.}. High style on a low budget--who would have thought??

When I first saw the photos, my eyes went straight to those fabulous monogram pillows. I love, love, love the font she used and the clever interpretation using the '&'.

No symmetry on this gallery wall!! It's whimsical and eclectic and just fun.

Blooming walls: May flowers

Monday, May 07, 2012

Isn't it amazing....the april showers that we endured restlessly, have rewarded our patience with the most amazing May flowers.

I know that these beautiful budding blooms will only be around for a few more days. But here are some fun rooms showing ways that you could enjoy lovely flowers {at their peak!} all year.

The large scale of these blooms makes this fresh and modern. What do you think? Is it something that appeals to you?
