I know that there are many who are 'right brained' and just as many who are 'left brained'. We are all beautifully created and have been blessed with our own individual gifts. I have also found that those who consider themselves devoid of the 'creative gene' are so intrigued with the thinking of the artistic group. My dad, for example, is as 'non-artistic' as they come {love you, Dad!} He was a chemist who understands mathematical equations and can easily recite formulas. I was his complete polar opposite. We would sit at the kitchen table during my high school days and he would try desperately to explain the simplicity of Calculus and Algebra to me, with little success. Meanwhile, I simply wanted to retreat back to my beautiful box of paints, explore my perspective drawings and spend any free time in front of the tube absorbing the talents of Bob Ross. We were and still are, very different souls. He doesn't understand my crazy brain and yet he has always encouraged me, believed in me and appreciated my talents. He is quite the cheerleader.
If you are a creative or you have a creative in your family, then chances are, you will appreciate this post written by Kim Philips. She is pretty spot on.
