Sexy Barn: Rafael Novoa

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Hold on to your cowboy hat and {monogrammed} boots, my friends. You are about to enter into the sexiest barn reno eva. The team of designers at Rafael Navoa took on the challenge of renovating this 300 year old Pennsylvania barn and turning into a gorgeous, expansive residence. Keeping as much as they could, they juxtaposed old world European elements of design with a contemporary to minimalist direction of style.

As you arrive to the property, you immediately notice that this is a barn with some serious contemporary flair. The designers ability to mix and isolate both extreme styles bring an exciting aesthetic.

Maybe my favorite feature are these sliding glass and steel front doors.

Just what makes an interior 'sexy' ?? Smooth, reflective surfaces, gorgeous low lighting, metals, rich wood, smoky sophisticated grays, crystal chandies, streamlined furnishings....

Welcome to sexy, ya'll ......

I don't play the piano, (not well anyway} but, I can't imagine a more inviting spot to sit and play than in this elevated music area. Look at all of that light.

And a little closer look at the metal stair risers that get you to all that sunshine...

I love how the track lighting runs along most of the beams, but the heads are very small and completely non-intrusive.

The living room is really the only place that color shows up. For the most part, the home is filled with whites, cream, and grays. The upholstery here boasts cool teal blues. Imagine sailing along the warm waters...there's a certain sexiness you feel on your skin when the sun washes over you when you are lying on a boat, in the sun and breeze, loose and carefree. When this teal blue is used in interiors, I am instantly transported to the water.... {Mama needs a vacay!!}

Downstairs leads to stone walls, concrete floors and low ceilings. It's dimly lit and very intimate -- a very inviting spot to host a party.

listen..

can you hear it??

John Legend is crooning 'All of Me' from the speakers under that lit bar. Oh yes he is.
