Guest room reveal

Friday, November 18, 2011

 {still debating if we should leave the doors off or put back on--I kind of like them off}

Just finished this guestroom of a families mountain vacation home. All of the furniture is Mr. Clients childhood furniture. I gave it all a fresh coat of paint and new hardware. I love the sweetness and simplicity of the final project. This room was super dark with only a ceiling fan light kit and dark green trim {not sure where my before pics are}. It got recessed lighting and a wood clad ceiling and wainscotting. The wood received only one coat of paint to allow all the grain and rustic charm to come through. I will share more details next week.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Studio legohead

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Are these not the most adorable pet portraits EVA? I am seriously crushing on artist Jo

Chambers. Jo is the textile artist and illustrator behind the company Studio-legohead in

England. Her passion is predominately dogs {love her more!!} and she wants stories of

the ‘models’ she is commissioned to paint. I love her simple lines and her inclusion of the

doggie accessories {scarves. hats, tiaras, etc}.

I asked Jo, ‘why the name Studio-legohead??’ Jo: ‘The name Studio Legohead, never mean’t

to stick. It started as a bit of a joke, but as I became more noticed, it has just ended up staying.

I'm 34, but since the age of 17 I had a bob haircut, which, over the years (until I was 32!!!)

changed in length of fringe, overall cut etc. One of my hometown friends, on first meeting

me thought I was wearing a hat, as at the time it was very short and quite severe!!! Then

slowly I was known as the girl with the Legohead haircut, so my nickname became Legohead,

 or Legoheadjo!!!’ {don’t you love a good back story?}

You can peruse more of Jo’s work and her models or commission your own portrait
{Christmas present!} by visiting her site here.

A Space for her Office Space

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Thanks to Joanna for today's post!!

Hi! I’m Joanna, a blogger for Design Shuffle, the online source for everything interior

design. I spend my work days gathering the most beautiful interior designs and sharing

them with readers of blogs like Shannon Berrey Design. Thanks, Shannon, for letting me

share with your readers today!

For someone who works at home, having a dedicated work space is a must.

Having a decorated 'to the nines' office is even better. I’ve gathered together eight

feminine work areas just for her. Take a look, enjoy, and come away with your

own decorating ideas!

Home Office

Inspiration wouldn’t be lacking in this home office space. Even though it’s tucked away in the corner of a dine-in kitchen, the space still flows beautifully and definitely inspires some kitchen design ideas.

 Home Office

This richly-hued office has its own dedicated space. The vintage feel of the floral

wallpaper and the bright pink and chartreuse accents are a lovely combination.

. Home Office

This dressing room alone is enough to make many of our hearts skip a beat.

Pair that with an office and you’ll surely need CPR. That desk is phenomenal.

 Home Office

What’s not to love about this space? There’s plenty of storage and room to create and play. Does this inspire some wonderful bedroom design ideas?

Home Office

This home office is crisp and fresh. An all white palette with just a hint of color in the

floral chair gives an energetic feel to the room.

Home Office

What a view this home office has! One could get lost creating and working here.

The office colors blend naturally with the outdoor view.

 Home Office

With its red and white theme, this office reminds me of a valentine. The dark wood

floors contrast with the white furnishings perfectly. Tucking supplies, magazines and

clippings in specific storage bins keep the room nice and tidy. Great interior design

seamlessly merges beauty and functionality.

Home Office

If your work calls for having supplies at arm’s reach, then this is the space for you.

What's more beautiful to a creative person than knowing exactly where everything is?
