Easter memories

Sunday, March 31, 2013

{via 1999}

It seems like just yesterday we were searching the yard and the park for the goodies left by the easter bunny, donning matching outfits that I spent too many hours stitching together and walking the streets of Dillsboro as part of the annual Easter Hat Parade! While some things do change, some things do not -- His grace is sufficent for me. My strength is made perfect in weakness. II Corinthians 12:9

Happy Easter, friends!!

Split personality

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Part of what I love about my job is there is nothing mundane, nothing day-to-day, and nothing predictable about my schedule. Currently, I am working on an outdoor rustic spring wedding, an enormous mountain home remodel, a huge Gala fundraiser at the Casino, a waterfront home in Florida, and then, of course, the important mom stuff of dealing with spring break, Jack's driving lessons, the Prom, sports schedules, and a too-soon Graduation. It's enough to make my head swim and to feel a little multi-personalitied {new word}. It appears that Seletti knows exactly how I feel and made a hybrid dinnerware collection just for me.

Perhaps it doesn't appeal to everyone, but I love this crazy combo of eastern and western styles merged together. I tire of china patterns faster than T. Swift changes boyfriends, so this idea of mixing it up is seriously doing it for me.

All of my personalities are wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend!!

An eggscellent snow day

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

Yet another day home from school and a half a foot of the white stuff led Jack and me to partake in a little easter egg decorating yesterday. Well, more like Jack sitting next to me while I colored. Which is just about the best way to spend a morning, I do believe. Nothing fancy, mostly using my sharpies, I doodled out some patterns and a monogram {of course}. The golden egg was a vinyl sticker with some Rub 'n Buff -- the easiest of all. After I pulled the sticker off, I reused my gold S on another paint dipped egg. It was too pretty to just toss!

Have you decorated any eggs this year or are you too busy shoveling snow??

The Green Room

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Well, it snowed all day yesterday and then we woke up to about 5" this morning and it's still coming down. It has completely covered the daffodils, the pansies and the bright spring green grass that has already been mowed several times. I can't wait to put this white stuff behind us and really truly embrace all of the green. But, until then, I will just stare at the most fantastic room that was just completed by Kim Lemmon of The Green Room Interiors {pretty appropriate name!}

 I just love the transformation that her living room went through. With very few original architectural details, Kim was able to infuse a bright, comfortable relaxed living room with 2 separate spaces.

 I am dying to get my hands on this 'Lemon Tree' Schumacher fabric. Love, love, love it.

 Most of the rooms pieces are thrifted or upcycled and received a new paint job or new upholstery. And how about that gallery wall...

From the front door, looking into the room -- this just may be my favorite shot.

Love the horizontal striped curtain panels.

 Fabulous. Just fabulous.
