My Sweet Savannah stocking holder

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

I love these stocking holders that Melanie made for her family.

Melanie's explanation:

'I covered a wood frame with scrap booking paper and added their initials and the year they were born to the center of each one.
{courtesy of wedding chicks}
I attached the frames to a chunk of distressed white wood with "L" brackets on the back.
A old piece of window hardware holds the stockings.'

And a view of her beautiful tree that she decorated completely from The Dollar Store!! {thanks to a new very curious puppy!} Melanie shares the rest of her unbelievably festive home on her blog My Sweet Savannah. Click over only if you have a lot of extra time on your hand--you will end up staying a while.

Our party was great last night! I was so tired that I sat on the couch after the last guest left and apparently fell asleep. When I woke up, close to midnight, I looked towards the kitchen to what I knew would be a long time of cleaning, putting away leftovers and christmas dishes, taking out the trash, etc. But, apparently my hubby {aka elf} did. it. all. While I slept. Every single bit was spotless. The best present ever.

Monday Madness

Monday, December 19, 2011

I hope your pre-Christmas weekend was wonderful. We are hosting a party at our house tonight for the folks that work with Robert. I will be spending my morning in the grocery store. Which will probably look a little like this.

Watch out, peeps. I'm on a mission.

Pioneer Woman + Novogratz = fantastic

Friday, December 16, 2011

We all love a great before and after. But, if the Novogratz are involved in the after, well we know that it will be nothing short of outstanding. Enter the lovely Pioneer Woman and her girls room before:

The girls had very simple requests: a place to sleep and a place to knit and study.

After:

Pretty great. I love that we get to see the Novogratz step out of NYC and show us how their talents translate into middle america design. I think this couldn't be more appropriate for teenager girls who just happen to live on a cattle farm in Oklahoma.

Before:

I think that looooonnnng desk will inspire lots of study time.

After:

The 'knitting center':

I can't wait for all the nitty gritty details that will be shared when the HGTV show airs on next seasons Novogratz show in the spring. Jump over and check out more info on Ree's blog, the Pioneer Woman
