Fall and love in the air

Monday, September 16, 2013

I had a fun weekend full of beautiful fall weather and quite a bit of love in the air!
While leaving a clients home in Cashiers, the sun was just setting and I couldn't resist grabbing some phone pics of the September blooms in front of many of my favorite shops.

Sally, the owner of Dovetails has fantastic style. I love everything she does and the entrance to her antique store is no exception. Check out those beautiful lanterns.

It is so lovely to see how all of the shop owners in Cashiers take just as much pride in their stores exterior as the interior. I love just driving thru at different seasons and enjoying landscaping ideas. And, because of their elevation, the blooms linger much longer than those of us down the mountain.

Keven Hawkins new place is lined with rich red doors and tons of windows. I haven't had a chance to visit it yet, but soon!! Everyone was closed as I was stalking their beautiful storefronts.

Right before we moved Maris to Raleigh, the tiniest kitten showed up on our back porch.

She would sleep, head down, in my tennis shoe on the porch. Maris and I are so allergic to cats so keeping her wasn't an option and I tried so hard to find her a home. But, Maris has moved....

 guess who is still here...

She is rarely ever still, so this is one of the only shots I was able to grab of her. I don't know if it's because I have slowly been spending time with her each day that my body is somehow tolerating her???? But, she really isn't bothering my eyes or nose too much anymore. I do still get hives on my arms sometimes after loving on her, but not nearly as frequently. I so hope that I am building a tolerance -- have any of you guys ever heard of that happening?? We haven't named her yet. It's probably time, right?! She kind of melts my heart.

Remember this adorable book inspired invitation I shared here? Well yesterday was the big day! Emma was my intern at my store when she was getting her interior design degree at WCU. She was fabulous and helped me with Showhouse installs, running the store and merchandising vignettes. She has moved twice and is now in another state, but is still close enough to help me when I beg her {yay me!} Remember this wedding a couple of months ago? Emma was with me through the whole set-up.

The wedding was at the beautiful property of Hidden River right outside of Asheville.

The weather could not have been more perfect and the turning leaves were lightly falling over the ceremony. The bridal party entered on a carriage.

The bridesmaids and flower girl {could she be any more adorable?} wore convertible dresses each tied differently. They were gorgeous.

And I love this shot of Michael when he first laid eyes on his bride!

Emma made all of the bouquets with fabric knotted roses. She worked on them for months. Love!!

Congrats Emma and Michael!!!
