Flip through any decorating catalog and you will find tons of patterned bedding and bold duvets.
While this may appeal to many, when designing bedrooms, I often source very simple white duvets
or comforters. It can sometimes be a hard sell for my clients as they immediately think 'white= boring'.
If you are someone who loves color and pattern then it may seem very 'outside of your comfort zone'
and simplistic to be approached with the idea of white bedding. Clients are used to perusing their
catalogs and observing floral comforters with matching shams or oversized patterns with
coordinating curtains.
This can be A LOT of floral to look at.....and it doesn't leave much flexibility when it comes to
using additional patterns in the room.
White goes with everything and provides a neutral foundation to build the rest of the room.
By using white on your bed, then you are free to use great color on your walls. Strong color
looks great in contrast to white!

Keeping the bedding white, it allows you to use graphic wallpaper and rugs.

When white covers your bed, then your upholstery, headboard, curtain, bedskirt and
accessory options are endless!

If you need more color, then fold a pretty colorful blanket or duvet at the end of the bed.

White bedding is classic and timeless. It truly is a beautiful foundation. And really, what's better than
slipping into crisp white sheets...
Do you agree--white bedding does not equal boring??!!

pillows and some great curtains and a patterned run and wallllllah instant designer bedroom!
white walls so that I can change my bedding to whatever color that is on my, but I have understood that it is not so common to buy several beddings in the states as it is in Europe. I wrote a small blog post about it yesterday, because I find it kind of interesting...
I have at least 10 different (probably 20) beddings to chose from, so whatever suits my mood. I am new to your blog and like it a lot.
Thanks so much for sharing and I have enjoyed taking a look at your blog!
stop the sweats!
baby! I recommend it as a choice for clients with second homes since it can be washed in hot or bleached- in case of rentals or frequent guests. Great post Shannon!
